Discover the craft and confidence behind baking your own sourdough bread in this immersive, hands-on class designed for both beginners and curious home bakers. Guided by our chef instructor, you'll learn the full lifecycle of sourdough—from starter to finished loaf—while gaining the knowledge to continue baking successfully at home.
You'll begin by exploring the difference between a dry starter and an activated starter, learning how to bring a starter to life and maintain it over time. From there, you'll dive into feeding schedules, care techniques, and troubleshooting, building a strong foundation for consistent results.
Throughout the class, you'll work hands-on with dough—learning mixing, hydration, folding, and fermentation techniques that develop flavor, structure, and that signature sourdough texture. We'll also discuss baking methods and timing so you can confidently replicate the process in your own kitchen. You will be taking home and a Starter, banneton with a lame knife, and some baked goods.
This class goes beyond the recipe with practical lifestyle modules, including:
- How to maintain and store your starter
- Feeding schedules and timing for your lifestyle
- Ingredient selection and flour types
- Common mistakes and how to fix them
- Adapting sourdough baking to your home kitchen
Each guest will take home their own starter, a banneton basket with a lame knife, some baked goods along with guidance and resources to continue baking with confidence.
To round out the experience, guests will enjoy a chef-prepared dinner paired with wine, creating a relaxed and welcoming environment to learn, connect, and enjoy the fruits of the craft.
